tonic-herb-lemon-iced-tea

Ingredients

8-10 cups fresh Spring Water
1 bag Spring Dragon Longevity Tea
4-6 tbsp raw honey (or more, depending on your preferred sweetness)

Instructions

Place water in a large pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn heat off and add your teabag. Let steep for several hours (I make it in the morning, then go about my day for 3-4 hrs) then remove the teabag. Stir in raw honey when water is lukewarm.

Note: it’s important not to stir the honey in while the tea is boiling hot, this will kill all the healthy benefits of the honey. It is loaded with healing enzymes that are sensitive to heat.

Pour into a large mason jar or your favorite pitcher, add some sliced lemons and refrigerate for a few hours.
Serve chilled.

Intention

Growing up in Canada, sweet iced tea is a very popular alternative to carbonated soda pop drinks. When I moved to the U.S. I missed my sweet iced tea! When I started learning about detox and cleansing and giving up sugar for periods of time each year, I went on a mission to find a healthy alternative. Ron Teegarden’s Spring Dragon tea is Gynostemma based, with tonic herbs infused into the leaves. It is hailed as the most beneficial tea in Asia best known for its overall healing and wellness properties.

As you sip this cool elixir, give thanks to those working high on the mountains who gather the herbs for this magical tonic, and breathe into your own wellness consciousness. You are so much more powerful than you know or practice…
